The Cache Array boosts the horsepower of the System Controller – providing up to 48TB of additional high performance cache. By allowing a copy of data to reside in dynamic cache, the Cache Array enables administrators to fully leverage PowerFile’s hybrid architecture by ensuring that even the most demanding performance requirements can easily be met.
Each Cache Array offers 12 terabytes of high performance, SAS-based storage in a compact 2U rackmount form factor. The Hybrid Storage Appliance™ (HSA) can support up to four Cache Arrays for a total of 48 terabytes and the Active Archive Appliance™ (A3) can support up to two Cache Arrays for a total of 34 terabytes when combined with the 10 terabytes of native system cache.
PowerFile’s unique HybridOS™ management software virtualizes the underlying storage components into easy to managed volumes. Once the Cache Array is installed, adding more cache to an existing volume can be done in seconds from the intuitive, browser-based management console.
