The Hybrid Library is the "electric motor" of our hybrid model – providing the back-end economy platform of our storage appliances. It is specifically engineered to house data that is valuable yet seldom accessed – minimizing operational storage costs while still providing nearline access and unmatched reliability.
The Hybrid Library is a 4U enclosure that houses up to 25TB of storage capacity (500 50GB Blu-ray™ discs). Featuring a patented-pending, cartridge-based design that only consumes 107 watts of power, the Hybrid Library not only leads the industry in energy efficiency, but also maximizes media life by sealing out dust and other contaminants.
The Hybrid Storage Appliance (HSA) currently scales to 9 Libraries for a total network-accessible capacity of 225TB. The design supports scalability of up to 24 Libraries / 600TB of network-accessible capacity. Libraries scale non-disruptively and incorporate groundbreaking features such as distributed processing, integrated computing, GbE connectivity, and redundant, field-replaceable components for high availability.
