Kirk Dunn - CEO
Kirk Dunn brings a diversified range of technology engineering, marketing, sales and management experience to PowerFile from established companies and high-growth organizations. During his nearly 20-year career, Kirk worked extensively with Fortune 200 accounts, successfully built strategic sales and product divisions, and led international expansions. Prior to PowerFile, Kirk was CEO of Bang Networks where he devised and executed a market and product strategy that delivered the first real-time Web messaging appliance to Fortune 200 customers. He was also Vice President of North America Field Operations for Inktomi where he built and led a team from $3M to a $150M run rate, and was instrumental in new product planning as member of Inktomi's executive strategy council. Kirk came to Inktomi from Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NET) where he held executive positions in sales, marketing, and professional services. Prior to NET, Kirk worked for IBM, in senior sales positions. Kirk received a B.A. in Mathematics and Applied Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles.
 
Scott Jones - Founder, PowerFile Inc
Scott Jones was an early investor in the technology that has become today's PowerFile. He is CEO, Chairman, and co-Founder of ChaCha, a groundbreaking search engine for mobile phones providing "answers on the go" that trumps desktop search engines. Jones is also Chairman and a co-founder of California-based Gracenote, Inc. (formerly known as CDDB), the world's leading provider of music recognition technology as showcased in Apple, AOL, Yahoo, and Sony products. He serves as Chairman of Gazelle TechVentures, a top-performing Midwest-based venture capital company, Founder/Director at San Jose-based Powerfile, and Chairman/CEO of PrecisePath Robotics. In the mid-1990s, he played a pivotal Board role at Cambridge-based ATG, a leading provider of e-commerce platforms for Fortune 500 companies. In 1986, he co-founded voicemail provider, Boston Technology, Inc., serving as Chairman and Chief Scientist. Boston Technology experienced strong growth and later merged with Comverse Technologies to become the world's leading provider of voice-messaging solutions. Jones' inventions are used by nearly all the major telephone companies throughout the world and by over a billion end-user customers today.
 
Greg McAdoo - Partner, Sequoia Capital
Greg McAdoo joined the PowerFile Board of Directors in May 2004. He is a Partner at Sequoia Capital and currently serves on the boards of SolarFlare, Big Bear Networks and Isilon Systems. McAdoo was responsible for Sequoia's investment in Allegro Systems (acquired by Cisco in 2001). Formerly President and CEO of Sentient Networks (acquired by Cisco Systems), Greg has over 17 years of Engineering and management experience in the networking industry.
 
Dan Warmenhoven - CEO, NetApp
Dan Warmenhoven is the chief executive officer of NetApp, Inc., a leader in enterprise data management and content delivery. Under Warmenhoven's leadership, NetApp has grown to become a billion-dollar company and is now recognized as the market leader in network storage - a concept that the company pioneered.
 
Warmenhoven joined NetApp in October 1994 and led the company's initial public offering in November 1995. Today, NetApp has over 3,000 employees worldwide, with distribution channels in over 119 countries. NetApp is included in both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 indices and has been ranked as one of Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work for in America for the past two years. In 2004, Warmenhoven won the prestigious National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2001, Business Week named Warmenhoven as one of its Top 25 Managers for the Year.
 
Previously, Warmenhoven served as chairman, president, and CEO of Network Equipment Technologies (N.E.T.), a telecommunications manufacturer. He is a veteran of Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP), where he held senior management positions, including general manager of the Information Networks Group. Prior to HP, Warmenhoven was a 13-year veteran of IBM Corporation in the Communications Products Division, including Engineering manager for the Token-Ring local area network.
 
Warmenhoven holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical Engineering, with honors, from Princeton University.
 
Mark Masur - General Partner, Silver Creek Ventures
Mark Masur is a general partner of Silver Creek Ventures and its predecessor funds. Since co-founding the Firm in 1989, he has helped to guide its investment program which is focused on carrier infrastructure, wireless communications, networking, semiconductors, storage and security. Highlight investments from Silver Creek Ventures portfolios include: Xilinx, Inc., ONI Systems, Inc., Alteon Web Systems and MetroPCS.
 
Mark’s philanthropic activities tend to be grassroots in nature and he and his wife are active in community youth ski and sailboat racing programs. In support of his wife’s passion for horticulture and Texas history, Mark serves in a background role in support of The Dallas Heritage Village, a living history museum where his wife serves as a director.
